It was Leinster Inter County Semi and Finals Day in Leinster’s Badloyle Centre today with teams from all over the Province in attendance. There were semi finals in Grades 4 and 5 and one final in Grade 1 in the morning session, with Finals in Grades 2 to 5 after lunch the centre was abuzz all day

In the Grade 4 semi – Wicklow beat Meath 4-3 while Westmeath beat Wexford 5-2, while in the Grade 5 semis - Westmeath and Louth proved too strong for Wicklow and Longford respectively , both winning 4-0.

To the Finals
In the Grade 1 final – held earlier in the morning – a strong Kilkenny beat Dublin 4-3. Later in Grade 2, both these counties faced each other again and this time Dublin proved to be the stronger winning out 5-2 in the end.

In Grade 3 – Meath showed their resolve and won a close tie over Wexford 4-3, while in Grade 4 – it was another epic and close battle , this time between Westmeath and Wicklow, another 4-3 result with Westmeath coming out on top.

Last, but not least , in Grade 5 a strong Louth won out over Westmeath winning the final tie 5-2. So, all in all, many great inter-county battle and many great games on court.

It is great to see 5 different Counties winning out across the 5 Grades and so many going to the last match to be decided.

Congratulations to all the County players that traveled up to Baldoyle on this lovely spring “Mother’s day” to play all did their Team and County proud.
Thanks to the organisers , the ever present PJ Cooney assisted by CAC Pro Jenny Ní Mhaoileoin
The Winners from each Grade now go on to represent Leinster and their County in the All-Ireland Inter Counties which are being held for the very 1st time in the new National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown next Saturday 1st of April – (and that’s not a joke 😊)
So we wish the very best of luck to our County Teams from
Kilkenny (G1) , Dublin (G2), Meath (G3), Westmeath (G4) and Louth (G5) – Enjoy, and bring it on home 😊
