Last Sunday, 11 enthusiastic teams from around the Province gathered in Baldoyle to compete in the Leinster U15 Inter County event.

The morning session was a Round Robin format to determine the rankings for the main competition after lunch. With the teams looking great in their county colours, matches were played in great spirits and were competitive with the final places in both Div. 1 and Div. 2 being decided on a countback of points. Kilkenny A only narrowly missing out on Div. 1, with Offaly and Meath B performing well to claim spots in Div. 2 from a hard fighting Louth team.

The afternoon session was, if anything, even more closely contested. All 3 divisions were decided in the final round of matches, and with more than 1 game being decided by a single point the excitement was immense. Boyed on by a desire to play well and wearing their county colours with pride, players fought hard for every point and there were some great rallies contested.

Notwithstanding the competitive nature of the event, all players demonstrated a great attitude, both on and off court, and there was a great atmosphere in the hall all day.
After all games were played, Dublin, Kilkenny A and Louth were the winners of their respective divisions, with Dublin going forward to represent Leinster in the All-Ireland Inter County event later in the season.

The Overall results were as follows:
Div. 1: 1st Dublin, 2nd Kildare A, 3rd Kildare B
Div. 2: 1st Kilkenny A, 2nd Meath A, 3rd Offaly, 4th Meath B

Weekend One of the ICC Premier League has come to an end. Some terrific performances from the Leinster team players who fought until the bitter end in all of their matches. We are ready to fight again in our January fixture. Thanks again for all the support and to our sponsors Yonex.
