OFFICIAL OPENING OF BADMINTON MUSEUM

Before the Leinster Badminton’s Annual General Meeting earlier today the official opening of the Badminton Museum with Leinster’ Baldoyle Centre took place.
The official opening was attended by Frank and Sue Peard and Sue officially thanked the Museum Committee who over many many years have been compiling badminton memorabilia and artefacts of the history of badminton in Ireland which now can be put on display within this Museum.

Thanks to the Badminton Museum Management members of Dick O Rafferty, Vivian Hood, Mary Dinan, David Evans and Frank Egan for their dedication in ensuring the history of badminton in Ireland is not lost and now not only on available via their website – see link below – but also can be seen within the Museum Room of Baldoyle Badminton Centre (behind courts 6 & 7).
We strongly encourage everyone that when in Baldoyle at Events you take some time out to visit the Museum and peruse the many pieces of memorabilia of photos and artefacts on display

LEINSTER BADMINTON AGM – PRESENTATIONS

Leinster Badminton’s Annual General Meeting for 2017/18 Season took place earlier today in Leinster’s Baldoyle Badminton Centre and following the main meeting a number of presentations took place.

First were presentations of Honorary Life Membership of Leinster Badminton to Judy Bryant (Offaly) and Scott Evans (Dublin)
To Judy for her dedication and contribution to Juvenile Badminton within Offaly and Leinster, and to Scott following his recent retirement from International Badminton, in recognition of his fantastic and unparalleled achievements at all levels of Badminton including Provincial, National and International.
Cheryl accepted the presentation on behalf of Scott who could not attend but had sent a video message (to be posted separately)

A presentation was then made by Roy Cobbe (Chairman) to Tommy McGrath, Leinster Badminton President as he stepped down from this role following 6 great years of dedication that Tom brought to this position.

Presentations were also made to Jean Kelly and Mary Dinan who for the past number of years were Vice Presidents of Leinster and now also stepping down from their roles.

Finally congratulations to Catherine Smyth (KADCA Juniors) who was voted in as our new Leinster Badminton President for the coming two years – well done Catherine
