Paddy Kelly – An Appreciation

Paddy had been in bad health for the last few years, none the less, it is a shock to hear of his passing. All through the years he has been a great supporter of both Leinster Badminton and Whitehall Road. Paddy started his badminton career in the 80s playing with Churchtown Badminton Club. His love of the sport grew and in later years he became a coach. He was involved in the formative years of a number of Irish internationals -Carol Green, Scott Evans, Lee Evans -amongst others. Badminton Expo 23 – National Badminton Centre Lisburn, Saturday, August 26th

Badminton Expo will feature a number of incredible demonstration matches from the top players in Ireland and indeed the world. An unparalleled showcase and experience of one of the greatest sports in the world. Not to mention an incredible day out for the whole family. Apply early as tickets are limited. Annual General Meeting Leinster Branch 2023- Date Changed to Sunday May 14th 2023

Please note that the Leinster Branch Annual General Meeting, which was scheduled to take place in Terenure Badminton Centre on April 23rd 2023 has been deferred. The Meeting will now take place on Sunday May 14th, at 2.30pm in Terenure Badminton Centre. This also means that the closing date for Nominations has been extended to end of day on Monday 8th May, 2023 Any inconvenience this may cause you is regretted. An Appreciation of David Gannon

It is with great sadness that we pass on the news of the passing of David Gannon. David was a true family man and will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Kim, daughters Leah and Abbie, Mother Mary, brother Niall, sister Celine and their families. From a young age those around Whitehall Road knew David as a near permanent fixture in the center. He spent time watching his older brother Niall play, tagged along to coaching sessions run by his mother Mary, or simply spent time with his late dad Christy, who worked in the hall for many years.
