DUBLIN DISTRICT LEAGUES & CUPS
The Dublin District Leagues & Cups (DDLC) Committee runs a very successful League & Cup competition each year. This season the number of Teams competing in the DDLC is 429 ranging from Divisions 1 to 10 across the 3 disciplines of Mens, Ladies, and Mixed events.
There are in total 61 Clubs represented, 46 of which are Dublin based, with 2 from Kildare, 3 from Wicklow, 5 from Meath, 3 from Louth and 1 Club each from Carlow and Laoise – all very welcome in the DDLC competitions. Of the 61 clubs, delighted to have 5 new Clubs this season, namely: AMC BC / Badminton Boys BC / Citywest BC / Hot Shots BC and Maynooth University BC
The Leagues & Cups semi-finals and finals take place in both the Terenure and Baldoyle Badminton Centres and are very well attended by clubs, teams, players and supporters and the atmosphere at these events is always electric.
As well as the league, the DDLC Committee runs 7 graded fun tournaments throughout the season which are open to all Badminton Ireland affiliated players.
The DDLC Committee is always looking to increase the number of people playing badminton and entering its competitions, one of the ways that it does this is through its yearly “Kick-Start the Season” Graded Tournament.
Although DDLC’s main role is to run the Leagues & Cups, the Committee will always give assistance to all new clubs.
DDLC is committed to the promotion of playing and enjoying the amazing sport we all love, Badminton.
