How to qualify for the Leinster Finals

The winning team(school) and runner-up from a County Blitz which is organised and run by Schools in each county qualify for the  Leinster Finals.  If there are less than two schools  available in the county to take part, Leinster Branch may give them (on request) a bye into the competition.

Where a County has held a blitz, the blitz organiser must advise  the results to the email : Schools@lbbui.ie . If no blitz has taken place and schools are interested, teachers/PE teachers must advise us directly.

The  key steps to ensure eligibility to play are:

Have your entry in on or before the final day for entry

Affiliate with Badminton Ireland and have your affiliation number to hand when entering

Pay entry fee

Register the team before closing date

Comply with Player age eligibility criteria.

Entry Fee

The Leinster Schools competition entry fee is €20 per team.   The  link/QR code  will issue  prior to the closing date of each event.

Affiliation to Badminton Ireland

Badminton Ireland is our governing Body and administer affiliations for all Badminton in Ireland, an affiliation must be paid by your School before the Leinster Finals take place.

Team/Player Registration for the Finals

The link to the Team registration form   will issue prior to the closing date for entry. 

  

All Ireland Finals

Winners of Leinster Division 1 and Division 2 will automatically go on to represent Leinster in the All-Ireland secondary Schools Finals, run by Badminton Ireland.

This will take place in Gormanston on Wednesday March 25th, 2026.
