We learned the very sad news today (Monday) of the passing of Eileen earlier this morning.

Eileen was a very kind person, but she was also very caring.

She cared very much for her husband David, a former chair of Aer Lingus Badminton Club, her two children, Aileen, and David – small David as she would refer to him even though he is now over six foot tall, and then her grandchildren.

Next on her list would be her parents, her mother only passed away in January, her very many friends, and then she concentrated a huge amount of time contributing to her sports interests.

The Island Golf Club benefitted from her committee work, but it is Leinster Badminton that received the most significant benefit.

Eileen spent many years closely involved with Baldoyle Badminton Centre, the Over 35’s League, her club KADCA and yet, still found even more time to chair the Executive and serve on a BI subcommittee.

Eileen was a true lady and will be very fondly remembered by all who knew her.
