Vacancies on the Leinster Branch Executive Committee

  • President- having served 4 consecutive years, our President is obliged to step down, and this creates a Vacancy for that position. Nomination form .
  • Honorary treasurer: The Honorary Treasurer has served one term of 2 years and is eligible for election. Nomination form .

Leinster Branch: Proposed Rule Changes

In line with Sporting bodies across the Provinces, Leinster Badminton made a commitment to our governing body- Badminton Ireland- and through them to Sport Ireland to comply with the Governance Code for sport. The Code outlines the best standard of management for the Branch and expects the Branch to ensure compliance with same. This includes reviews to ensure best practices and controls are in place, that the Branch complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and players, volunteers and staff operate in a safe environment.

The Leinster Executive started working on the Governance Code at the end of 2023 and have made significant progress, however it is an iterative task. Every year Reviews and corrective action takes place to ensure that best possible standards remain in place.

Badminton Ireland have pointed out to us that, a key area, which needs to be reviewed are the Rules of the Branch. With their help, a number of changes have been identified. The Executive now propose that the Council review those Rules and decide if they should replace the current ones.

The current rules and have added into them, in Red, the changes proposed. I have also included a list of the changes which might be easier to review. At the AGM on June 7th the proposed changes will be discussed and voted upon.

The formal notice of meeting will issue on May 25th and will include the details of upcoming vacancies.
